Ingredi Sodium Citrate Dihydrate USP, Fine Granular is manufactured and packaged by Archer Daniels Midland in a bulk 50 pound bag. 

Sodium Citrate Dihydrate is the most broadly used emulsifying salt in sliced processed cheesed products. It is also used as a buffering agent in meat products. 

Specifications 

Ingredi Sodium Citrate Dihydrate is GRAS affirmed under 21 CFR 184.1751. It meets all requirements of the U.S. Pharmacopoeia, Food Chemical Codex, Code of Federal Regulations, European Pharmacopoeia, British Pharmacopoeia, Japanese Pharmacopoeia, and W.H.O./F.A.O. Food Additive Specification. It is certified as Kosher and Halal. 

As an ingredient in personal care products, Sodium citrate is used in cosmetics and other skin care products primarily to control the pH level, as well as for its preservative properties. 

As an ingredient in supplements, Sodium citrate helps control pH in the kidneys helping to prevent gout and certain types of kidney stones. In this application it is normally combined with Citric Acid. 

Characteristics 

Sodium Citrate Dihydrate is a white, fine translucent crystal powder. It is odorless and has a mild, saline taste. The substance’s pH (5g/100ml at 25°C) value is 7.5-9.0 and its solubility (g/100 ml at 25°C) is 71 in water but is insoluble in alcohol.
