Ingredi Lecithin Adjusted and Unbleached also known as LEC-AU is manufactured by Perdue Agri and packaged in bulk 2200 pound totes.

Lecithin is a dietary source of several active compounds. The body uses the material for cell signaling and neurotransmitters. The material is widely used in the food and beverage industry for baked goods, chocolate, salad dressing, nut butter, candies, and protein drinks. It can lower the fat content of a product while enabling it to still taste good. It is also an anti-caking and releasing agent. Lecithin can also work as a wetting agent by making it easy to mix dry ingredients. It is ideal in non-stick cooking sprays and gives food a smooth texture.

As an ingredient in personal care products, Lecithin is used in cosmetics to enhance the appearance of dry or damaged skin by moisturizing and restoring suppleness. It is also an outstanding emulsifier for water and oil based products. It is also found in hair conditioning products.

As an ingredient in vitamin supplements, Lecithin is said to improve the health of many vital human systems including, Cardiovascular, Liver and cell, Fat transport and fat metabolism, reproduction and child development, as well as skin care.

Ingredi Lecithin Adjusted and Unbleached is derived from plant sources with no animal products used in processing, storing, or handling procedures. It is non-hazardous as defined by OSHA at CFR 1910.1200. It is considered GRAS under the United States Food Act CFR 21, Part 184.

Ingredi Lecithin is yellow to amber in color and is aromatic in odor.  It is a viscous, emulsifying liquid that is insoluble and stable under normal conditions. Lecithin should not be exposed to temperatures below 16°C because it may promote separation of oil from the phospholipids. If separated, it may be remixed under heat without loss of functionality.
