Briners Choice Anhydrous Calcium Chloride is manufactured and packaged by OXY / Occitental Chemical Corporation in bulk 50 pound bags

Anhydrous Calcium Chloride is a non-synthetic, inorganic compound intended for use in solution form. It is used for pre- and post-harvest treatments of fruits and vegetables to maintain firmness, reduce decay, and prevent certain diseases. Frozen food benefits from Calcium Chloride as a secondary refrigerant or immersion freezing fluid. Benefits include increasing calcium levels in the body resulting in better nerve, muscle, and bone health. It is also referred to as calcium dichloride.

As a personal care ingredient, Calcium Chloride is used in bath oils, cosmetics, conditioners and lotions which it adds viscosity.

Calcium Chloride is also used to control dust, especially on unpaved roads, and is a staple in the planning and specifications for contractors and highway departments. Not only does it reduce dust in a wide range of climate conditions, it also reduces maintenance costs as continued treatment increases the concentration, leading to a more stable, improved effectiveness.

Calcium Chloride pellets are very effective as an ice melt on roads in the winter to temperatures as low as -61F, as opposed to rock salt that only melts ice to -6F.
